Larry Arnold Haney

Age 64, of Big Lake passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday July 18, 2023.

He was born to Arnold Melvin Haney and JoAnn Lucille Haney (Greenlee) on Sept 6, 1958 in Austin MN. He worked for Border States Electric company for 29 years. He spent many years working near Austin MN and served in the Navy for a brief period of time. He will be remembered by his family for his love for the outdoors, his willingness to help friends, family and his passion for cooking. In his free time, he spent many years with the Boy Scouts of America and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was known for his sense of humor, love for adventure and in retirement, his love of feeding those closest to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Diana Haney of Big Lake; his children: daughter Christina and Jay Sogn of Hanover; his son, Bud and Shanna Haney of Maple Grove; son, Robert Pfeffer (Tiana Sayler) of Big Lake. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Garrett, Carter and Liam Sogn. Makayla Rose Haney, Josie Pfeffer-Sayler and Ellie Sayler. He is also survived by his father, Arnold Haney; brothers, Gary (Dawn) Haney, Scott Haney, and Darwin (Marilyn) Haney; sister, Debi Haney of Oklahoma; many family members and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his son, Larry A. Haney Jr. and his mother, JoAnn Haney. 

A celebration of his life will be Tuesday July 25th from 4:00-7:00 at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E Broadway, Monticello, MN.
