Laurie L. Poach
Age 69 of Monticello
Passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2026 with her husband Duane and daughter Ann by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Winifred (Fountain) Berthiaume.
Laurie is survived by her husband of 51 years and 1 month, Duane; children Trista (formerly known as Todd) and his wife Carrie, Ann (Matt) Renczykowski; grandchildren Sam, Joey, and Michael; sisters Kathryn (Kenny) Schultz, and Diane Folkestad; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her fur babies Kiki, Louie, and Millie.
Laurie was the Head Cook at the Monticello Middle School for 30 years where she developed lasting friendships and memories with her co-workers and students. She not only loved cooking for a living but for her family as well. They were often the recipients of her delicious meals and treats prepared with love. Laurie was a talented quilter and observant watcher of the local wildlife that crept up to her windows. She took pride in keeping things clean and tidy whether it was by picking up trash and recycling on her long walks in the country or the impeccable housekeeping of her and Duane’s home. Her number one priority was always the love and care she showed to her family.
Everyone knew how much they were loved by Laurie and will keep these memories close to their hearts.
She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Time of Sharing at 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The memorial service will start at 2:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 12449 Clementa Avenue, Silver Creek Township (Monticello), MN on Monday, February 16, 2026. Please join the family for cake, pie, coffee, and fellowship after the service at church.
