Loren Bernard Cleveland, age 77 of Monticello passed away at his home on January 11, 2023. Loren was born on May 7, 1945 to Alanzo Cleveland and Louise (Vetches) Cleveland. He grew up in Monticello and graduated Monticello High School. After a 2 year enlistment in the US Army, Loren met the love of his life, Maxine Metcalf, who he was married to for 46 years. Loren worked for Federal Ammunition for his entire career as a maintenance technician until his retirement in 2002. In retirement, Loren and Maxine enjoyed bus trips with friends, and attending their grandchildren’s activities.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents, Alanzo and Louise Cleveland; brothers Alan (Ardis) Cleveland, Roger (Glynette) Cleveland; and wife Maxine (Metcalf) Cleveland. He is survived by son Christopher Cleveland (Deb Schmitz) and his children Kendra and Cole; daughter Lori (Nathan) Anderson and their children Jordyn and Justin Anderson; sister Cheryl and Don (DeBoer). A private burial will be scheduled at a later time. Papa had a small circle but treasured that circle with everything he could.
