Lorraine was born in Big Lake, MN on March 23, 1937. She was one of 18 children born to Elmer and Myra (Daniels) Nyberg. She married Wesley N. Howe in 1954. She was blessed with 8 children; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Except for a short amount of time when Wesley was in the Army, she spent her entire life around Sherburne and Wright Counties. Lorraine was a homemaker whose life was centered around family. She loved spending time with her children and extended family, especially during holiday potlucks and summer picnics. She was very tiny in stature but huge in love and generosity.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Myra; her husband, Wesley; daughters Carol Howe, and Joyce Tomlinson; sons Kurt Howe, and Craig Howe; son-in-law Jerry Huff; grandchildren Robert Howe, Melissa Howe, and Shawna Howe; and siblings Duane Nyberg, Eugene Nyberg, May Mosier, Marian Carlson, Lillian Steinkraus, Melvin Nyberg, Lois Nyberg, Steven Nyberg, John Nyberg, Richard Nyberg, Barbara Gowin, Roger Nyberg, and a stillborn brother.
Lorraine is survived by her children Guy (Geneva) Howe, Gayle (Gerald) Maybury, Gwen Huff (Jim Tomlinson), and Jolene Howe; grandchildren Charity (Alisa) Maybury, Angie (Sophia) Maybury, Chad (Liz) Howe, Jason (Jessica) Sens, Tyler Sens, Deanna Hirman, Katie Howe, Wesley Tomlinson, Heather (Zach) Braun, Devin (Paige) Lund; great-grandchildren Dylan Glammeier; Lola Sens, Charlotte Sens, Brayden Sens, Jayden Foster, Parker Foster, Carter Howe, Chelsea Braun, Lauren Braun, Liam Lund, and soon to come baby Paisley; sisters, June Konop, Vera (Dennis) Swanson, Judy (Pete) Duncan, Shirley Nyberg; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 10-11AM with service at 11AM at Riverside Church, 20314, County Road 14, Big Lake, MN. A light lunch will be served at church followed by interment at Bellwood Cemetery in Orrock Twp, MN.
