Passed away September 27, 2022 in Monticello, MN. Born in Underwood, North Dakota on August 7, 1927 to parents Leo J. & Viola E. (Grabinger) Nachreiner. In 1936, her parents and four siblings relocated to a farm on the Cottonwood River near Springfield, MN. After graduating from Springfield High School, she enrolled in nurses training as an LPN in the Twin Cities and worked at Glenwood Hills Psychiatric Hospital in Golden Valley, MN.  She met and married Bernard Schuller and together they adopted two children, Kent and Margo, and settled in Brooklyn Center, MN. Bernard passed away suddenly on November 17, 1963.

She went to work for the Federal Reserve Bank and eventually retired from there in 1982.

On June 10, 1967 she married the love of her life, Ivan Kubitza. They met when Ivan was serving as a Big Brother Volunteer assigned to Kent. Ivan adopted Kent and Margo in 1968. They lived a happy and full life together of volunteering, traveling and organizing family gatherings. Ivan passed away on April 24, 1987.

Lorraine was a dedicated volunteer.
