Obituary

Age 67, of Blaine, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022 with his loving family by his side at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Lynn was preceded in death by his father Lowell “Bud” Schrupp; and his loving wife of 43 years Cheryl.

Lynn is survived by his mother Rae Schrupp of Monticello; brothers Jay (Ann) of Savage, Steven (Pennee) of Monticello, Jerry (Lisa) of Monticello; daughter Ada (Michael) Burrell of Fulshear, TX; and son Ty (Kayla) of Ham Lake. Lynn was blessed with four grandchildren who were the light of his life, Bradley, Lily, Amelia, and Kennedy. He is also survived by his special friend Pat Kaiser of Minneapolis.

Lynn began working at Thermo Rite/Brownstone 40 years ago. He began as a salesman until he became a part owner over a decade later. He created lasting relationships with his customers and colleagues. Lynn played hockey for Wayzata High School, then went to Anoka-Ramsey Community College to study business and play hockey. From there Lynn studied at Hamline University, where he continued to play hockey and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business. After college he began playing in a Friday night men’s hockey league with teammates from Anoka-Ramsey. Many of these teammates became lifelong friends. Lynn loved that both his daughter Ada and son Ty went on to play hockey in high school.

Two of Lynn’s favorite vacation spots were Sanibel and Captiva Islands in Florida. Lynn and Cheryl began vacationing there in college and went at least once a year. They introduced their children, grandchildren, and many other family members to this wonderful place throughout the years. Lynn could never sit still in restaurants and would introduce himself to the management and they would be friends for life.
