Mabel passed away on October 28, 2021, at the Buffalo Hospital in Buffalo, MN. Mabel was born on December 29, 1930 in Monticello, the daughter of Leo and Florence (Wilken) Klatt.
Mabel had a big heart and was a frequent volunteer. She donated her time and talents to the Monticello American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 52 years, the Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, and the local blood drives. She enjoyed playing cards, Bunco, Bingo, going to the casino (and winning!), also enjoyed being around people due to her friendly and outgoing personality.
Mabel is survived by her son Thomas (Barbara) Liefert of Monticello; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Larry (Diane) Klatt of Clearwater; sister-in-law Joan Klatt of Monticello; daughter-in-law Jan (Jeff) Hofford; many nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and friends.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband George; son, Jerry Liefert; sisters and their spouses, Verna and Warren Snodgrass, Hattie and Glen Arnold; brothers Robert, Roger, Delbert, and Gordon Klatt.
Visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, with prayer service at 7pm at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Broadway, Monticello. Funeral service will be held at 11am, on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 413 E. 3rd St., Monticello with 1 hour visitation prior to service at church.
