Mable Marie (Pederson) Moses

Mable Marie Moses, age 92 of Monticello, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, September 12, 2024. She was born July 12, 1932 in Princeton, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Borneke) Pederson.

Mable married Kenneth Schuneman in 1951. For 20 years as an Air Force wife, Mable and family lived in Florida, Utah, Alaska, Mississippi, Texas and Japan for 4 of those years. After Ken’s retirement, the family settled in Monticello. They built the Chaparrel  (now Hawks). Mable had her own country western band, playing the accordion and was lead singer. Ken passed away in 1968 and Mable married Duane “Buzz” Moses. Mable again became a widow in 2010. She worked at Monticello Nuclear Plant for 18 years. Mable loved to shop and play the slots at Mystic Lake Casino. She also sang in the choir at the Monticello Senior Center. Mable’s constant companion for the last 6 years was Marki, her Shih tzu.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ken Schuneman; second husband, Buzz Moses; daughter and son-in-law, Nona and Jim Howe; and brother, Duane Pederson.

Mable is survived by her children, Karen (Steve) Soltau, Cindy (Bob) Schaapveld, Rick (Debbie) Schuneman; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene Pederson; beloved Shih tzu, Marki; and many other loving family and friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at the Church of Saint Henry in Monticello, MN. Inurnment at St. Henry Cemetery in Monticello, MN.
