Marlene Joy Bodin, age 88 of Monticello, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was born October 4, 1935 in Cambridge, the daughter of Alden and Corinne (Erickson) Torell.
Marlene attended North High School in Minneapolis with the class of 1952. She worked as parts manager with Crane and Hoist Company for 16 years and as financial manager with her husband’s business, Don’s Osseo Shoe Store and Repair.
Marlene was a faithful member of Cambridge Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Bethel Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed sewing and baking, and was an excellent cook. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Marlene had a positive attitude, making it very easy to be around her and she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Her kindness will be missed by all!
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2012, Don Bodin; parents, Alden and Corinne Torell; brother, Lynn (Geri) Torell; and aunt, Irene Tsurl.
Marlene is survived by her children, Terry Bodin, Randy (Nancy) Bodin, Sally Hart; grandchildren, Kyle (Breanna) Bodin, Lora (Riley) Kuschel, Ashley Hart, Cory Hart; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Emilie, Lillian, Oliver, Kylan, Kaylee; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 East Broadway Street, Monticello, MN. A luncheon and more time of fellowship will follow the service in the Mississippi Room at the Monticello Community Center, 505 Walnut Street, Monticello, MN. Burial at Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery in Cambridge.
