Monica Albert Obituary

Monica Albert was a devoted mother, sister, daughter, grandma, friend, and caregiver who left this world on September 23, 2021, at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Monica was born to Russell and Betty Friesen on December 10, 1948. She spent much of her early life in Kentucky and Longville, MN until settling down in Monticello, MN.

After graduating high school, Monica went on to attend college for Optometry, but later found her passion working in nursing homes and caring for those in need. Much of her career was spent working at nursing homes in Hopkins, Long Lake, and Osseo, MN. As a caregiver Monica had a heart of gold and often went the extra mile to put others before herself.

Monica loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals with and for her family. You could usually find her baking with her grandkids and teaching them how to cook. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sitting in her big, comfy chair crocheting blankets to share with all or watching her favorite programs on TV. Monica was always up for some juicy conversation and laughs with her loved ones. She loved unicorns, windchimes, and saltwater taffy.

Monica had 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren who were the light of her life. She would often speak of and about them to anyone who would listen. Additionally, she had many other relatives and friends whom she loved deeply.

Monica is survived by her children, Gina Nagler, Rosee (Jeff) Holte, and Jordon Nagler; her sister, Ann (JD) Thompson; her stepmother, Nancy Friesen; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Cheyane (Timmy) Holan-Ince, Cole Holan, Naomi Renquist, Andreas Renquist, Chelseanna Holte, Jacob Holte, Anthony Renquist, Marshall Holte, Christina Holte, Sadie Holte, Isaiah Holan, Haleigh Nagler, Isabella Holan-Ince, Elleanna Towne, Ariella Allan Holte, Jasper Holte; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by the father of her children and late husband, Jerome Nagler; her parents, Russell and Betty Friesen; and her brother, Bud Cooper.
