Norbert Andrew Weinand

Norbert Andrew Weinand passed away, surrounded by his family, in Monticello, MN on Friday, January 27th at 80 years old.

Norbert was born on November 30th, 1942 to Alfred and Helen (Kugler) Weinand. He grew up on the family farm in Monticello, Minnesota and graduated from Monticello High School in 1960. He joined the National Guard in 1964 and served until 1970. 

On September 9, 1967 he married Marlois Psyk in Albertville, MN, they were married 49 years. They spent their years together on the Weinand family farm where they raised three sons: David, John, and Michael.

Norbert’s life centered around faith, family, and farming. Norbert valued hard work, modest living, and a job well done. He loved farming alongside his wife and three boys. He spent many days on a tractor tending the fields and working with the cows.

He was a lifelong member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and belonged to the American Legion. He also served on the Annandale Co-Op Creamery Board, Unity Mutual Insurance Board, and treasurer of Monticello Township. 

Preceded in death by beloved wife, Marlois; and parents, Alfred and Helen.

He is survived by sons, David (Aimee), John (Melissa), and Michael (Rachelle); grandchildren, Lydia, Caleb, Peter, Noah, Josephine, Andrew, Miriam, Therese, John, and James; sisters, Mary and Leora (Don).

Casket bearers will be Norbert's grandsons: Caleb Weinand, Peter Weinand, Noah Weinand, Andrew Weinand, John Weinand, James Weinand.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 Broadway Street East, Monticello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at the Church of Saint Henry, 1001 East 7th Street, Monticello, with Father Patrick Barnes as Celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Henry's Cemetery in Monticello.
