Richard James Phipps, 59, of Monticello passed away Monday, February 20, 2023. He passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after a three-and-a-half year battle with cancer. Richard was born to Harold and Patricia Phipps on November 26, 1963, in North Saint Paul. He was a 1982 graduate of Becker High School and furthered his education at North Hennepin College obtaining his Associates Degree in Business.
He was married to his beautiful bride on August 23, 1986, in Monticello. Richard’s greatest pride and joys were his wife, children, and grandchildren. His love for the Lord shined brightly in every area of his life and never missed an opportunity to share the love of Christ.
Richard devoted over 40 years of his life to Holiday Station Stores. He loved to work, but he loved his family more.
Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn; children, Nickole (Adam) Koep, Dolly (Peter) Belde, and James (Sabrina) Phipps; grandchildren, Ethan, Collin, and Cooper; four brothers, Mike, Pat (Sue), Dan (Kathy), David (Brenda); four sisters, Jenellen (Bill), Cathy, Jean (Curt), and Peggy; as well as many nieces and nephews, other family, and numerous friends.
Rick was taken too soon, and we will miss him dearly. We look forward to the day we will see him again. We love you forever and ever.
Rick’s Celebration of Life will be held at Westbridge Community Church, 11600 Frankfort Pkwy NE, St. Michael, MN on Saturday, February 25, 2023. There will be a visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with service at 10:00 AM and a light luncheon reception to follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
