Richard "Bud" Baumgartner Sr. Obituary

Richard "Bud" Charles Baumgartner, Sr. was born on August 17th, 1936. He was the second of seven children born to Mike and Roma Baumgartner. As a youth, he attended various country schools including Big Lake, Bailey Station, and Becker. A hard and dedicated worker his entire life, at age 16 he began working construction type jobs. In 1958, Bud began his long and faithful career at Archer Daniels Midland-Fleischmanns Malting Company. Here he was an integral part in making products for local breweries, and thus supplying beer to the country! While employed at Fleischmanns, he formed many great relationships with co-workers and friends, some of which were family, and he grew very close to. On January 29th, 1966 Bud was united in marriage to Laurene (Rene) Lambert at Orrock Church. His lifelong soulmate, friend, and companion, they would raise two wonderful children together, Richard Junior (Rick) and Kristine (Kris). Throughout the years, Bud and Rene owned and managed several bars and restaurants together. Always as a team, they worked together side by side and were an integral part of the community. In 1998, Bud retired from Fleischmanns after an industrious 40 year career. His remaining years were spent with friends and family and living out adventures. One of a kind, with a penchant for good times and adventures. Bud went skydiving at age 65! He loved fishing trips, family vacations, and spending time with his grandson Kody. A lifelong player of card games and Cribbage, he was always tough to beat at anything to do with cards.

A black Cowboy hat, silver belt buckle, pearl button-up shirt, and wing tipped boots, Bud was the most stylish man around! Bud is survived by wife, Laurene; children, Rick (Jenni) and Kris; grandson Kody; sisters Darlene Kolbinger, Avis (Pete) Henrich, Sharon (Mel) Bell, Ginny Agnew; aunt Donna Hanson; and many cousins, nieces & nephews.
