Richard Earl Ellison, age 79 of Monticello, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was born October 16, 1946 in Farmington, Maine to Earl and Florice (Parlin) Ellison.
Dick graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1964. He then enlisted in the United State Army and dedicated three years of service until being honorably discharged. He worked as an inspector at Metal-Matic in Minneapolis for 30 years until his retirement.
On June 19, 1981, Dick and Kathy Henry were united in marriage.
Dick found his greatest happiness at home and enjoyed his cats and spending time with family and friends. His quiet nature and sense of humor will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Ellison; and parents, Earl and Florice Ellison.
Dick is survived by his brothers, Ed (Sylvia) Ellison, John (Rebecca) Ellison; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other family and friends.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Becker Cemetery in Becker, MN. Military Honors, prayers and a time of sharing will be held.
