Richard "Rick" Leonard Martie Jr.

Rick Martie of New Richmond, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 3, 2024. He was born at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, KS on February 18, 1959.

He attended Monticello Public School, graduating with the class of 1977. He graduated from St. John’s University in 1981. He began his career with Anderson Window Company and lived in Wausau, WI, Murray, Utah, Crestline, CA, then New Richmond, WI. He was always associated with the construction industry and the automotive industry. He and his dad were avid NASCAR enthusiasts and loved working on cars. Rick was very detail oriented and could fix just about anything, either on his vintage house or cars.

Rick is preceded in death by his dad, Dick Martie; grandparents; aunt, Sharon Martie; uncle, Gene Martie; and cousins, Paul Martie and Kent Guptil.

He is survived by his 3 children, Tyler Martie; Riley (Megan) Martie; Cassandra (Tyler) Carlson, and their mother, Sue; grandchildren, Ryder, Braxton and Bella Martie, Millie Carlson; mom, Sally Martie; 3 sisters, Lisa Strasser (Margo Wolfe), Jill (Rollie) Vetsch, Jan (Rick) Iano; uncle, Russ Martie; aunt, Pat Martie; his Martie cousins and 7 nieces and nephews.

His family wishes to acknowledge and give heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Orchard View Care Center and Lakeview Hospice in New Richmond, WI.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel of Monticello, MN. Burial at St. Henry’s Cemetery in Monticello, MN.
