Robert Edward Yarco, 89, passed away on July 12, 2021 at his home in Monticello, MN with his family by his side. Robert was born on November 3, 1931 in Dutch Creek, WY to Susan and Paul Yarco.
In 1935, Susie and the children left Wyoming for Kootnie, ID. In 1941, at the age of 6, they moved to Minnesota. In 1947, at the age of 15, he lied about his age and joined the army. He served at
Fort Knox, KY, Big Delta, AK and Fort Benning, GA.
After the army in 1952, he moved to Minneapolis, MN which is where he met Eleanor Kroll in 1955. They married in 1956, and raised their family in Brooklyn Center, MN.
In 1954 he started as a truck driver in Minneapolis with Dale Tile Company. Then he became the warehouse manager for Minnesota Tile. He left there in 1974 to start Kate-Lo Tile with Bill LaVahn. He worked at Kate-Lo until 1994 as a salesperson and then he retired.
One of his hobbies was writing poems. He has written over 100 poems.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; brothers, Paul and Edward; son-in-law, Wayne Dehkes Sr.; and sister, Mary.
Robert is survived by his children, Rosemary Dehkes of Pine City, MN; Debra (Gene) Jestus of Blue Springs, MO and William (Elizabeth) Yarco of Monticello, MN; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 11 AM on Tues, July 27, 2021 at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 E Broadway, Monticello with visitation one hour prior to service.
