Born on March 7, 1966 in Cloquet, Minnesota to parents Lyle and June (Fairbanks) Stillwell. Rob was raised in Hoyt Lakes and graduated from high school in 1984. After graduation, he went to Hennepin County Vo-Tech for auto mechanics and got his degree, and ASE certification. This allowed him to work for several different auto shops and then he became a machinist, and ended up in Monticello, Minnesota. Rob was drawn to outdoor activities. Among his favorites were fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and boating. He also thoroughly enjoyed partaking in building Mopar racecars and drinking bourbon and making people laugh with his “spot on” impersonations. The fun times wouldn’t be complete without his best friends, Sean, Kratt, and Hilton. The four of them were inseparable. Rob will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and June Stillwell. Surviving are his brothers James (Janice) Stillwell, and Todd Stillwell; niece Amy Nicole Grenier; other relatives and many friends including his best friends Sean, Kratt, and Hilton.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from Noon to 4PM (and beyond) at the Monticello VFW, 713 Cedar Street, Monticello, MN. Arrangements by Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, Monticello. 763-295-2918. (www.peterson-grimsmochapel.com)
