Roger Dennis Strommen

 Roger was born in Glenwood Township, MN on September 24, 1937 to Oscar and Mable (Halvorson) Strommen. Roger went to be with Jesus on November 13, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

 Roger grew up with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He went to school in the Glenwood/Starbuck area and graduated from Glenwood High School. Growing up, Roger definitely was a farm boy. He loved the country and his dogs. While still in high school, Roger joined the Air Force Reserves in which he served for 8 years.  In 1960, Roger moved to Minneapolis and married Ardis Marie Westrud on April 2, 1960. They had 4 children: Brenda Jane, Lonny Roger, Bridget Jean, and Cathy Marie. In 1983, Roger and his family moved to the country near Monticello.  

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and infant daughter Cathy Marie; and

siblings Helen Svor, Gordon Strommen, and Harold Strommen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ardis; children Brenda of Monticello, MN, Lonny (Lisa) of White Bear Lake, MN, and Bridget of Darwin, MN; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Pat; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Broadway Street, Monticello and 1 hour prior to service at church. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 9300 Jason Avenue NE, Monticello. Interment will be held in Chippewa Falls Cemetery, Terrace, MN.
