Ruth Marie (Carnahan) Mitchell

Ruth Marie Mitchell, age 99, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; son Dennis; sisters Ellen, and Naomi; and daughter-in-law Juanita. Ruth is survived by her daughter Linda (Pete) Larson; grandchildren Heather Burch, Brent (Mary) Mitchell, Breanna (Rick) Alexander, Ben Larson, and Braden (Sandy) Larson; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Ruth & Ray raised their family on a farm in Iowa.  Ruth was active in the Methodist Church in Pequot Lakes, where she volunteered and made pasties. She loved living in Nisswa and enjoyed bike riding along the trails and knitting.  She and Raymond wintered in Texas for years to escape the cold Minnesota winters. Her family will always remember her ability to make the best homemade dinner rolls.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior at Community United Methodist Church, 9225 Jason Avenue NE, Monticello, MN. A luncheon will follow the service at church. Private interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Nisswa, MN.
