Sandra Quigley Obituary

Sandra Jane (Cramlet) Quigley

Age 79 of Monticello

Passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Sandy was born on Tuesday, March 28, 1944, in Benson, Minnesota to parents Elmer “Buster” and Mary Ellen “Ella” (Bouta) Cramlet. Being born on a Tuesday makes her a “child of grace” as the classic Days of the Week poem goes, and she lived her life in that way. She graduated from Murdock High School in 1962. She attended X-Ray Technician school and worked at the Glen Lake Sanitorium as an X-Ray Technician. She later worked as a secretary for Rockford Public Schools Community Education.  On June 6, 1964, she married Kenneth Quigley, this June would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. Sandy was known for her loving, and caring personality. She loved to take care of others. Sandy was a hard worker and had a hard time saying no when asked to help out. She was always working towards the next thing. She wanted to fix everyone’s problems and always rooted for the underdog. Sandy found great pleasure and made beautiful artwork out of her meticulously arranged vegetable and flower gardens. Baking, cooking, fishing, and camping with her husband were some of her favorite pastimes, but nothing could beat the times spent with the kids and grandkids. What fun was had on those summer days when grandma would have the pool ready with the soaker hose, bubbles or just swinging on the garden bench with her. Sleepovers at grandpa and grandma’s house were sure to include movies, snacks and treats and lots of fun times! We loved waking up to grandma’s delicious blueberry pancakes. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Elmer “Buster” and Mary Ellen “Ella” Cramlet; brother Douglas Cramlet; and daughter Mary Kay Quigley.  Surviving are her husband of nearly 60 years, Kenneth Quigley; children Mark (Jean) Petersen-Quigley, Michelle (Lonnie) Quigley-Chapman, Monique Quigley, and Melissa (Matt) Feehan; grandchildren Kenny Paul Quigley, Hannah Wessel, Hunter Wessel, Sydney Feehan, Elliot Chapman, Griffin Feehan, Oliver Chapman, Taggert Feehan, and Hogan Wessel; Siblings Richard Cramlet, Susan Schluter, and Jeff Cramlet; and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank Cherrywood Advanced Living of Big Lake for their loving care. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 Broadway Street East, Monticello.
