Thomas Douglas Green
April 19, 1943 – February 10, 2026
Thomas Douglas Green, 82, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026.
Tom was a strong, independent man whose family meant everything to him. He and his wife of 54 years, Arlene, built a life grounded in loyalty, resilience, and commitment. Together, they created a family that became his greatest pride.
He was a proud father to Adam (Mikka) and Scott (Carrie). He was also a devoted grandfather to Louise, Katie, Liam, Barrett, Collette, and Gunderson, who brought him immense joy.
Tom’s independence was shaped early. At 13, he left home and spent four years working on a dude ranch breaking wild mustangs — an experience that forged the toughness and grit that defined him. He later served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
An entrepreneur at heart, Tom began by selling fire equipment before launching his tornado siren business. Through long hours and perseverance, he built a company that still stands today — just like the sirens he installed — as a testament to his vision and work ethic. One of the proudest moments of his life was watching his sons take over the company he built from the ground up — a testament to his hard work and determination.
Tom valued honesty, strength of character, and respect. He was opinionated yet kind, social, and quick to strike up a conversation with anyone — often from his porch with a heater and a cup of coffee in hand.
He had a special love for Corvettes and could happily recount stories of his ’68 Tri-Power 427 or his red ’66 convertible. Those cars brought him pride and pure enjoyment.
He found peace at his lake home in Monticello, boating on Lake Minnetonka, and at his cabin in Silver Bay. Though he loved the water, he was happiest staying busy, working with his hands, and always having a project underway.
Tom will be remembered as strong, proud, and deeply devoted to his family. His legacy lives on through his sons and the life he built with grit and loyalty. He will be deeply missed and forever respected.
