Veronica “Roni” Anna Janos
Age 95, longtime Roseville resident, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Roni was born in Rose Township (now the city of Roseville) to parents Harry E. and Angeline (Mertz) Seidenkranz on the eve of Valentine’s Day, February 13, 1929. She attended St. Agnes Catholic School, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, and Murray High School, where she served as the secretary for the athletic department. She had a fervent faith and love for God. Her family was dear to her, but she had a special place in her heart for the grandchildren. She loved the babies. In the summertime, she could be found tending to her large vegetable and flower gardens at her Roseville home. She couldn’t pass up a good bargain, she was a thrifty saver and super couponer.
Her knack for saving came in handy while growing up as she had a love for cars. She bought each one of her new cars before she was married and paid for it in cash. Her favorite was the ’55 Bel Air Sport Coupe which she took a memorable road trip to California in with her sister Rosie and friend Barb. Roni also got excited about playing Bingo, even if she didn’t win. Hosting large family gatherings was also a joyful event for her throughout the year.
Roni was preceded in death by her parents; and 6 siblings. Surviving are her children Maria (Rod) Gilbertson, Lisa (Robert) Blume, Anthony Janos, Christa (Mark) Ramberg; grandchildren Pat Gilbertson, Tyler (Shelby) Gilbertson, Dan Gilbertson, Abby (Dan) Ray, Andrew Janos, Michael (Taylor) Blume, Katie (Zach) Williams, Aaron Janos, Kate Janos, Sarah Blume, and Erica Ramberg; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 with visitation one hour prior to mass at the Church of Corpus Christi, 2131 Fairview Avenue North, Roseville. A luncheon will follow mass at church. Interment will then take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. Memorials preferred to Prolife Across America or St. Rose of Lima.
