Ginger Carlson’s (Brodersen) work here is done. On July 7, 2023, she received a call, the sort of offer you don’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus: a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Ginger’s life on earth was full of wonderful memories. Those memories will be cherished by her husband of 48 years, Rich, their daughter Heidi (Joe), son Shaun (Christina), and those who called her ‘Granny,’ Samantha, Payton, Bjorn, Emmett, Allicyn, Ella, and MacKenzie. Ginger touched the lives of many people through her gift for hospitality, and love for cooking. The Carlson’s door was always open, the coffee was always on, and banana bars were always waiting. She was born in Faribault, MN on September 12, 1952 to Virginia and Fred Brodersen. She was the youngest sibling of Duane, James, Norma, David, and Roger. Ginger graduated from Coon Rapids High School, entered the workforce, fell in love with Rich, and started a family. She was always up for a challenge and loved DIY projects. She was a wonderful wife, awesome mom and loving grandma, who will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Riverside Church in Big Lake, MN on Thursday, July 20th, 2023. Visitation to begin at 1:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm, and time of fellowship. Arrangement by the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, Monticello. 763-295-2918.
