William John Klein, age 79 of Isle, passed away on May 1, 2025, surrounded by family. Bill was born to Paul and Marie Klein on February 7, 1946, in Monticello, MN. He graduated from Monticello High School and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1965-1967. In his varied career, Bill worked as a carpenter, fishing guide, realtor and served as a firefighter.
In retirement, Bill spent days reading and fishing at his cabin on Gun Lake and more recently, Mille Lacs. He was an accomplished woodworker. His projects are treasured in the homes of his family and community, with several pieces donated and raffled for charity. Whether tackling a new recipe or building his latest grandfather clock, Bill was always planning his next project. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Robert; sisters, Mary Jane (Raymond) Puncochar, Ann Klein and Joyce Peterson. He is survived by brother Paul (Dianne) Klein, sister-in-law Fay Klein, and brother-in-law Barry Peterson; nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
Per Bill’s wishes, private interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Little Falls. Arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
