Born May 4, 1932 to Vernon and Olive (Cox) Moores, passed away at home Saturday, June 4, 2022. For many years, Bill was so proud to own and operate Moores Excavating in Big Lake. Everyone in town knew him and knew to head to the shop after a hard day’s work to solve the world’s problems over a drink. He loved to fish and be at the cabin in Merrifield with his loving wife Marjorie, who he was married to for almost 71 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Donald and Marlys, nephews David, Trevor, and Tim.
Survived by wife Marjorie; sons: Steve (Dorothy), Dan (Janette), Dean (Debra), Larry (Jackie); grandchildren: Stephanie, Stacy (Andrew), Brian (Amanda), Jeff, Michael (Laura), Justin, Donnie (Brittany), Chrissy (Brian), Anthony; great-grandchildren: Luke, Teddy, Angel, Zoie, Christian, MacKenzie, Marla, McCoy, Olivia, Scarlett; step-grandchildren: Scott and Steph (Allie, Levi), Jason and Chass (Tori), great-great-grandson: Roman; and nephew and nieces: Tom (Karen), Terry, Shelley (Roger).
Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 9, from 12-3pm at Up The Creek Grill & Bar (4246 112th St NW, Silver Creek, MN 55358). A private burial will be held at a later date.
